    Guidance & Counselling

    The guidance and counseling program aims to assist students in harmonizing their abilities, interests and values, enabling them to fully develop their potential. Self-knowledge helps in formulating life goals and plans that are realistic.
    The Vidyalaya has appointed a full-time counselor to assist the students.

    Under the Guidance and Counseling Programme, the following topics are found relevant to students of Years 6, 7 and 8 and are discussed with them:

    To develop healthy study habits:
    Creating a student’s daily work schedule and identifying their study time.

    Making a self-study plan.

    Prepare a checklist to follow their study plan.

    Develop a self-reward technique to stick to the study plan.
    How a healthy study habit helps to get good grades in exams.

    To alert student health:

    Make a list of what we want to eat mostly.

    Foods we eat and their nutritional value.
    Importance of three meals a day.

    Homemade food vs street food.

    Why do we fall ill?

    Awareness about some seasonal diseases.

    Discuss our food habits and their impact on our studies.

    Maintaining friendship:
    Why do we need a friend?

    A good friend is one who…?

    Make a list of good habits in my friend.

    Preparation and Planning for PT-1:

    Make sure that class work/homework notebook is completed before the exam.

    Make a daily study plan.
    How to improve concentration for studies?

    Set realistic goals and time for studying.

    What should we do before the exam?

    How to improve our classroom learning?

    How to develop interest in a subject?
    Under the Guidance and Counseling Programme, the following topics are discussed with the students of classes 10, 11 and 12:

    Look at yourself to learn about your interests.

    self management.

    Self-Realization Checklist.

    Discussion about the scope of their subject.

    Set a purpose in life.
    Self-study management.

    Discussion about some entrance exams like JEE, NEET, AIIMS, CAT, CLAT:

    Knowing the behavior of our friends.

    How do we spend our time in a day?

    What is most important in our life?

    Discussion on some professional courses after 12th.
