It was opened vide Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Head Quarter, New Delhi Office Order No. F. 11074-13/2010-KVS/(HQ)/(Adm.-I). The Vidyalaya started functioning from 1st August, 2011. The Vidyalaya is running inside the Tezpur University campus. Presently, the Vidyalaya is having classes from I to XII.
